What is a stain?

When the skin receives an external aggression (UV rays, hormonal changes, skin lesions), it defends itself by generating melanin. The melanin produced migrates to the surface of the epidermis and, due to a dysfunction of the organism, instead of being distributed homogeneously, it concentrates in one point generating a spot.

The different types of dark spots that exist include:
- Melasma or chloasma
- Senile lentigines
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

The main causes of the appearance of dark spots are:
Sun exposure, genetics, skin ageing, pollution, blue light emitted by electronic devices and/or hormonal changes: pregnancy, use of oral contraceptives, etc.

How are stains treated?

Spots are usually treated through:

Cosmetic and/or dermatological procedures: laser, chemical peelings, pulsed light, cryotherapy or medicines such as Hydroquinone or Kligman's Formula.

Cosmetic products with active ingredients such as Tranexamic Acid, Niacinamide or AHAs. All of them have demonstrated high depigmenting efficacy.

Photoprotection or photocorrection as a preventive treatment against solar radiation.

How to apply Skin D-Pigment [AHA 10 Overnight]?

Use Skin D-Pigment [AHA10 Overnight] in your nightly routine every other day.

Apply a generous amount (like a thin mask) to clean, dry skin and leave on overnight.

On days when this depigmenting treatment is not used, apply Skin D-Pigment [Serum ATXB3] for best results.

In the morning, cleanse the face and apply Skin D-Pigment [Serum ATX B3] and as the last step of the routine, Photocorrection [D-Pigment 50+].
